Built out of box as Franz von Werra’s Bf 109E
Engine side cowlings and panels in front of cockpit were taken from other aircraft to repair battle damage.
Model painted as it was when he was shot down.
Comprehensive decal sheet contains numerous stencil data even including very small fuselage frame numbers.
Shot down during the Battle of Britain Franz von Werra was captured and sent to a POW camp in Canada where he escaped.
He made his way back to Germany to fly again against the allies. He disappeared over the sea in October 1941.
The 1957 film “The One That Got Away” tells his story.
