MODEL KIT(s) AND TECHNIQUES USED:
This model is about 60% scratch built using styrene sheet, brass sheets and metal wires. The other 40% was built with modified parts from 3 different model kits, Tamiya, Mirror Models, Italeri.
The scratch-built components include the welder (except the V8 engine from Tamiya kit), the entire welder supporting structure at the back of the truck, spare tire rack, work table, cab roof hatch, welding tools, etc..
One of the many modifications involved taking the axles from the Tamiya kit and cutting and shaping them to fit the Mirror chassis.
