MODEL KIT(s) AND TECHNIQUES USED:
1:35 Meng BRDM-2 with 2014 “War in Donbas” camo scheme. Dismounted soldiers are a “Kit bash” of Trumpeter, Dragon 1:35 figures from VDV and desert storm kits to display both Donetsk Separatists and Ukrainian Army accurately for 2014. The base diorama is an empty Soviet ammo crate with XPS foam and plaster Paris to create the trench. All camo nets are scratch built from gauze bandages. All mortar impacts are custom made from cotton and airbrushed as well as the smoke grenade effects. The scene depicts a “contact” between Ukrainian recce group and volunteers against a Donetsk separatist trench
