MODEL KIT(s) AND TECHNIQUES USED:
Trumpeter 1/48 C47A “Skytrain” converted to C47C on Scratch-built EDO 29400 Amphibian Floats. The floats were designed from EDO factory drawings and 3d printed my me. The cowlings were also designed to drawings providing the correct shape for the C model.
The EDO company designed the floats for the US. Army in WWII to test the feasibility of a float equipped transport for the south pacific. About six aircraft were put into service but were not found to be very effective.
The floats were printed with my fdm printer and struts, landing gear, cowlings and boarding ladders with resin.
