The Macchi Castoldi MC 72, despite its vintage, still holds the speed record (709 Km/h) for a seaplane, set in 1931. This kit by AMP in 1/48 scale is a good injection molded model with a nice cockpit, fine surface detail, and great fit. Added 0.3mm steel wire for the rigging, painted it, and made locator holes to improve the
resiliance of the attachments point. Used Tamiya Racing Red laquer paint, Aquagloss gloss varnish, 1000 & 3000 grit sandpaper, Tamiya polishing paste, and elbow grease to obtain a deep gloss finish. Metallics were AK Extreme Metal Aluminum and Brass.
