MODEL KIT(s) AND TECHNIQUES USED:
This scratchbuilt 1:8 scale model of a Cosworth Lotus Twin Cam MK XIII engine and Hewland MK V transaxle is going to be used in a Lotus 23B. The design was done in Fusion, using purchased files for the engine block, VW transaxle case and Weber carbs, and the rest was done from pictures and dimensions. Most of the model is 3D resin printed but there are also CNC and manual machined parts. Real hardware and springs hold it together. The support frame is soldered brass with a CNC machined nameplate. The paints are Tamiya lacquer and Alclad.
