My 1:144 diorama is titled Mary K.’s Last Battle. It uses two kits, a Revell Ix C-40 U-Boat, and a PBY Catalina from Minicraft. It depicts the Canso Mary K. sinking the U-boat U-1225. Mary K.’s left engine is on fire, hit by one of U-1225’s guns. The diorama was airbrushed with Tamiya, Vallejo and Testors colors. It was weathered with Tamiya weathering compounds. Custom decals were used. My diorama stands out because it depicts a significant event from WWII, resulting a posthumous Victoria Cross to F/l David Hornell. Mary K.’s replica is on display at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum.
